Ansys Cfd Post: Troubleshooting Vorticity Contours

There are two possible reasons why you might not be able to see the vorticity contours in ANSYS CFD-Post:

 * Missing Selection: You might need to select a plane or surface where you want to visualize the vorticity contours. In CFD-Post, go to Graphics > Plots > Contour and then choose a plane or surface from the "Location" drop-down menu. Once you've selected the location, try applying the "Velocity Curl Z" option under Derived Quantities > Vortex Core again.

 * Incorrect Data Type: The "Velocity Curl" option might not be available for your specific data type. Vorticity calculations are typically derived from velocity data. Ensure you're trying to plot the contours on a velocity data type.

 * Check Data Availability: Before creating contours, ensure your CFD solution includes data for velocity components. Vorticity is derived from velocity data, so it won't be available if the simulation didn't calculate velocity.

 * Explore Alternative Visualization: If contour plots remain elusive, consider alternative visualization methods like vector plots. Vector plots can illustrate the direction and magnitude of velocity, which can help understand flow patterns and regions with potential vorticity.
